Maximize the Usability of Larger Rooms If your living room is quite large you might actually be wasting the space by using it only as a living room. Instead you can simulate the look and feel of an open floor plan by dividing the large space into smaller living areas. For example if you currently have your living room furniture arranged against the walls of the room try pulling some of the pieces in towards the center. Instead of widely spaced pieces create a smaller and more intimate living room area. You can then use the rest of the room for other purposes. For example you could create a small dining room area in one corner of the living room thus creating an open floor plan between these two rooms. Or create a small home office family library or reading area in a similar fashion. You might be surprised how much larger the room seems after youve divided it into two different living spaces. This arrangement is also quite useful if you do a lot of entertaining since you can effectively create several intimate conversation areas instead of one overly large room.
A great second step is to declutter. Having lot of items in a room makes it feel heavy and overwhelming. Try limiting yourself to three items per surface. Eliminate lamps and tables that serve no purpose. Put away throws, blankets, and other cold weather items. If you have not established good organizing systems for yourself, the spring is a great time to get motivated.
For dining room furniture, there is an extraordinary array of chairs and tables available for anyone who gathers round to experience the true feeling of mufti. One spectacular addition to your home would be a stunningly designed table that has been crafted from reclaimed Burmese teak wood. This table has been finished in a natural French polish, which provides elegance, simplicity and sophistication all in one. Although this particular table is a bit large, there is also dining room furniture that is smaller, or perhaps a bit more contemporary, then you may want to look into the spectacular range of round dining tables and chairs. These are also crafted from high-quality, reclaimed Burmese teak wood, and are finished in a deep, luxurious, glossy, dark brown French polish. You can also create a bistro feel in your dining room, with a contemporary set of bar chairs and tables that match. Or, if you are looking for something more modern, a square top dining room table crafted from Burmese teak wood that proffers a brown matte polish may be the perfect addition to your dining room, to invoke mufti in you and all of your family and friends.
